Logo design

We designed a logo to be used in social media platforms for tourism promotion of Izumo City with my former colleague Lucie Bourgeois (check out her LinkedIn). There are different color themes to reflect seasons, and the basic design mimics the Japanese personal seal, inkan. See also Ancient_Japan_Izumo on instagram, or Izumo JAPAN channel on YouTube to find out about the beautiful city with mystical history!

Winter Theme

I took a fashion design course as a part of my exchange studies at Yamaguchi Prefectural University. The final work for the course was to design an outfit with winter theme. My idea started with mixing together two fairytales and the North Pole. I had this idea of a little girl living with kindly polar bears in a little cottage somewhere in the midst of snow.

Table

This is a table I designed for a woodwork course.

The brief was only to make a small table, not

exceeding the limitations of the workshop

machines. My table is actually two identical pieces

that can be combined in many ways, to work as a

table or a shelf.

Local Wood

In Yamaguchi, we had a lot of projects with local people. I used local wood in two designs. First, to make a chair with a coatstand. The chair was designed to be a dressing room seat for ishiburo, old japanese stone hothouse similar to sauna. The second design is a pure wooden pendant that has the aromatic scent of wood. It is completely natural, so you could even bite on it to make it more individual.

Tiny Cabinet

I am in a constant battle to have a place for every item in our apartment. This little cabinet I designed to keep tea ceremony utensils for when I have aquired them all, but for now it's working as a home for all the liquer in the house...

Two upper doors open down to table tops, lower three are normal cabinet doors.

Logo Design

I designed a logo for my friend who runs a business of bringing chinese tourists to Lapland. The brief was to include reindeer/aurora/forest and bright green and blue colors. I desingned it so that it looks good in black and white, too. The reindeer started out realistic, but due to the customers wishes, it became more fairytale-styled.
